Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant will work as part of a two person team, along with a Manager, to provide complete financial management and accounting services to our clients. The Senior Accountant will perform and review client accounting, prepare financial statements, develop and manage budgets, analyze and report on financial data, educate and train clients in financial and accounting related matters, develop, implement and monitor internal control procedures, design and implement accounting systems, manage restricted grants and contributions, prepare federal, state and local tax forms and keep clients in compliance with other tax and licensing requirements.

Within 1-3 years the Senior Accountant will move into the Manager role taking responsibility for all financial management and accounting functions of assigned clients up through and including interacting with client senior management and Boards of Directors, setting goals and objectives, ensuring client compliance with laws, rules and standards, development and implementation of policies and procedures, and supervising the work of Senior Accountants.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone that is dedicated to the highest levels of integrity and has demonstrated the following abilities: setting and achieving high standards of performance, taking the initiative and acting independently while advancing company mission, values, standards and goals, serving multiple clients with a proactive approach to problem solving, communicating complex concepts to non-accounting personnel and volunteers such as Executive Directors, Board members and program staff, exceptional organizational and multitasking skills and attention to detail, high level of technical skills in the areas of accounting, technology and Excel spreadsheets.

Candidate must have 3-5 years of accounting experience, including not-for-profit experience. CPA required.
